After almost 10 years in the club, Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben as confirmed that he is in his last season at the club.

Robben disclosed this during a Bayern fan club visit to Bayern Friends Tegernsee.

”I can say that this is my last year and it is good like that,” Robben said.

“The club moves on and I may move on. It is the end of a very good and long period. I won’t stop completely yet.”

Bayern also tweeted through the club tweeter handle acknowledging is contribution to the club.

The 34-year-old started his career at Groningen before moving to PSV. Robben also played for Chelsea and Real Madrid before joining Bayern Munich in 2009. The Dutch legend time at Bayern Munich has seen him won a total of 18 trophies; 7 Bundesliga titles, 5 DFL Super-cups, 4 DFB Pokal winners’ medals, one UEFA Champions League and one UEFA Super Cup.

Club president Uli Hoeneß’s also confirmed Franck Ribery is likely to join Robben in departing the club, while Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had some kind words for the duo.

“Both of them are still good players,” Rummenigge said.

“They can still perform productively. There are players who have helped write the history of this club, and I must say in all honesty: the club would have been ill-advised if we had not extended them.

Robben has a total of 198 appearances for Bayern Munich with 98 goals to his name. Ribery meanwhile, has 80 goals from 259 appearances.

The duo will surely be missed.
