Chidozie Awaziem of Nigeria

Porto center-back Chidozie Awaziem has expressed his desire to represent the Super Eagles in more AFCON tournament.

The 22-year-old was part of the Nigerian team who finished third at the just concluded AFCON, where he featured as a make-shift right-back. He became a key member of the team after replacing injured right-back Shehu Abdullahi in Nigeria’s first match of the tournament.

Awaziem made this known while speaking to brila.net.

“It was my first time in Egypt.” said Awaziem.

“I enjoyed the experience and I am looking forward to get more opportunities with the team in subsequent tournaments’ the Porto player said.”

The former El Kanemi Warriors is currently on the books of Portuguese giant Porto, but serving a loan spell at Turkish club Rizespor.
