Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho joins Elche FC on a season long loan

Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has agreed a deal to join Elche FC on a season long loan.

“Elche CF has closed the incorporation of goalkeeper Francis Uzoho. The Club and RC Deportivo de La Coruña have agreed the transfer of the goalkeeper on a one-year loan deal , which comes after he played for Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.” a statement on Elche FC official website reads.

The Nigerian goalkeeper will arrive on Monday in Elche and after passing the usual medical tests will join the work with the rest of the group. Welcome, Francis! ” the statement concluded.

Uzoho played regularly for Deportivo de la Coruña B team last season, with only 2 appearances for the senior side. Henceforth, he will be plying his trade with  Deportivo Segunda B counterpart Elche this season. This comes after initially hoping for more involvement with the La Coruña senior side this  season.

At 19 years, Uzoho was the  youngest goalkeeper at the 2018 FIFA world cup.
