Match week 4: Watford ends Tottenham’s winning streak

Watford hands Tottenham their first defeat of the season, as they came out victorious in match week 4 100% wins contest. Elsewhere, Chelsea and Liverpool joined Watford as the 3 teams yet to loose a point this season.

Leicester  1 : 2  Liverpool

Liverpool 100% start to the season continued at King Power Stadium. It was not an easy win but it was a valuable 3 points for The Reds. Sadio Mane fine start to the season continued as he gave Liverpool a 10th minute lead, with Firmino adding a second in the 45th minute. There would be no goal for Liverpool in the second half as goalkeeper Alisson failed dribble gifted Leicester a goal but Liverpool held on for a narrow win. New signing Rachid Ghezzal scored Leicester’s goal.

Brighton  2 : 2  Fulham

Fulham gave up a two-goal lead to draw at Brighton. Andre Schurrle and Aleksandar Mitrovic had given Fulham a two-goal lead. Brighton hit man Glenn Murray, then took over the scoring with his goals ensuring the lots was shared.

Chelsea  2 : 0  Bournemouth

Chelsea are enjoying a good start to the season under new boss Sarri. It was a case of patience this time at Stamford Bridge, with the  first goal coming in the 72nd minute through substitute Pedro. Eden Hazard added a second in the 85th minute to ensure Chelsea made it 4 wins in 4 matches.

Everton  1 : 1 Huddersfield

Calvert-Lee equalized for Everton against Huddersfield

Everton are yet to lose this season but they have only won once so far. Their latest game also ended in a draw. Two quick goals in the first half was all both sides needed to earn a point from the game. Huddersfield took the lead in the 34th minute through Philip Billing but Calvert-Lee equalized 2 minutes later to ensure the game ended in a draw.

West Ham  0 : 1  Wolves

West Ham search for their first point of the season will continue into their next game. It is an unexpected start to the season after so much businesses in the summer. The Hammers went close to earning a point but were not resilient enough as they fell to Adama Traore late goal.

Man City  2 : 1  Newcastle

They may not win the Man City way but it was still three points to celebrate for Guardiola’s men. Sterling 8th minute strike had open the game up for goals. This was not the case, as there were only two more goals added. DeAndre Yedlin gave Newcastle a 30th minute equalizer but Kyle Walker was on target in the 52nd minute to earn a win for Man City.

Cardiff  2 : 3  Arsenal

Lacazette and Aubameyang were on the score sheet against Cardiff City

Arsenal still have much work to do defensively after shifting in two goals against a non-scoring Cardiff side. However, there were a lot to celebrate offensively as their 3 goals ensured the ended the game with a win. Mustafi and Aubameyang goals were cancelled by Camarasa and Danny Ward respectively but Lacazette 81st minute thunder strike ensured Arsenal finished with a win.

Burnley  0 : 2 Man United

After two consecutive loses, it was important for united to get a win in their next match. This they did as their committed play against Burnley was reward with a win. Two goals from Lakaku was all the needed to achieve this fate. Marcos Rashford also saw a red card after replacing Alexis Sanchez.

Watford  2 : 1 Tottenham

It was obvious the 100% league will lose at least a member in match week 4 after Watford was pitted against Tottenham. It was maybe unexpected as Watford came out winners in the contest. Doucoure own goal gave Tottenham a second half lead. But a hard working Watford scored in the 69th and 76th minute through Troy Deeney and Cathcart respectively to earn a comeback win.
