Tottenham have suffered fresh injury blow following an appendix surgery to midfielder Eric Dier.
The England international has been an ever presence for Tottenham this term making a total of 13 Premier League appearances with 2 goals.
Dier missed Tottenham’s 1-0 narrow win against Burnley after being diagnosed with appendicitis, following a report to the club doctors concerning an unusual acute abdominal pain.
Tottenham issued a statement confirming his diagnose and treatment, while also thanking the medical staff and National Health Service (NHS) for their excellent services.
“The England international midfielder was diagnosed with appendicitis after contacting our medical staff due to acute abdominal pain,” read the club statement.
“He received immediate treatment to assess and then remove the appendix.
“He will now undergo a period of recovery before commencing rehabilitation and it is expected he will return to training with the squad in January. Along with our medical staff, we wish to thank the NHS for their excellent treatment of Eric.”
The 24-year will now miss Tottenham’s League Cup clash against local rival Arsenal. He will as well miss all of their matches this Christmas season.
